Frequent Asked Questions

I typically charge on an hourly basis. All meetings with clients and contractors, time creating construction drawings, procuring finish materials and well as furnishings as required for project, and communication with client, contractors and suppliers will be billed out monthly on an hourly basis.

The timeline will vary from project to project, depending on the size of the project as well as amount of time needed for client to make decisions. Typically a bathroom or kitchen renovation project will take 10-15 hours, inclusive of initial client meeting and final project drawings sent out to contractors. New construction or a total home remodel could take a couple of hundred hours or so, depending on depth of project.
Once decisions have been made there is a lag time when contractor is planning the project and scheduling the start of the project. Once project is underway, I may be called in for other decisions to be made. As with remodels, there are unforeseen situations that arise that may affect the initial plan. Depending on the time between selections made and the start of the project, items may be delayed or discontinued. Alternate selections will need to be made.

Depending on the scope of the project purchasing products are dealt with through a variety of avenues.
With a remodel where there is a contractor, the contractor typically will purchase the finish items that are part of the building, ie. flooring, tile, paint, cabinets, countertops, etc. Some contractors will want to purchase the lighting, other contractors prefer that the client purchases lighting through me or on their own. Wallpaper, window coverings, decorative accessories and some specialty items the client will purchase through me or on their own.
Some clients will handle their own remodel based off of the plans I provide. There may be some products that they will purchase through my contacts.
There are specialty projects such as reupholstery or refinishing of furniture, windowcoverings, and art framing that the client will purchase directly from me, through my resources.
If a client desires to work with me for furnishing their room or home, I work with a couple of retail furniture stores in the area as a subcontractor as well as I have vendors through the design centers and markets where I procure furnishings for them.

I invite you to be part of the decisions! I prefer that my clients work with me on making the selections for their space. As we go through the process of selections together, either shopping with me or having me bring a few samples to your home, we’ll make the decisions based on your interests and personalities, thus making your house your home!
Enjoy the process! There’s enough stress in everyday living that I want to help relieve the stress in making the selections for your home. If you prefer, just give me the keys and a blank check and I can do a turn key for you as well! You’d be one of the few though😉! At the end of the project I love it when you tell me I nailed it! I truly want this to be your home, I want this to be about you and a reflection of you and your family!

I’ll be happy to speak with you about your project.
